"Inspiration does exist, but it must find you working," said Pablo Picasso. This sentiment perfectly embodies the life and dedication of Mesuli Mbatha. Born and raised in Edumbe, Mbatha is a leader of the people, determined to continue being the voice of the voiceless. His tireless work as the proclaimed mayor of Paulpietersburg has had a significant social and political influence on both the young and old. He attended Bilanyoni Primary School and completed his matric at Kanye Kanye High School. His journey reflects the essence of Picasso's quote, showing that true inspiration comes from persistent effort and dedication.

Mbatha started his own business an internet café which came as a way of making capital for his family but in resent years turned into a helping hand for the youth of paulpietersburg. His business has helped those in need of help by making resumes, doing job applications, and applying for those who want to further their studies in various universities without expecting anything in return.

"I've always wanted to give back to the community that I grew up in. This year, 2024, I started the Shandu Foundation as my way of giving back," he said. .” Back in 2021 I joined politics as I wanted to do something good for the people of my hometown and to make them understand that not all political parties lack services delivery for their people, but it did not work for me at that party which I won’t mention, as the higher authorities thought I wanted to still their spotlight. That when I produced the idea of starting my own foundation,” he said. The foundation began with a sanitary pad and school shoe drive, donating to learners in need.

He used the term "For the eDumbe People" as he further explained that he still wanted to do good for the youth of NPP. Recognizing that many were unemployed and not in a position to help themselves or their families, he was committed to making a positive impact.

“He really is a Good Samaritan. He helped me with my identity document last year when I was in matric, and I needed it for my exams,” said Mlindi Sukazi.

Community members shared their views, praising Mbatha for the excellent work he has been doing for the youth of Npp. Some call him the mayor of Paulpietersburg, though he is not officially a mayor.
